The Best 2021 Spring Events In and Around Frenchtown

Spring is the perfect time to enjoy everything Frenchtown has to offer, from strolls along the Delaware River in the evening to a variety of events and attractions in the area. Whether you’ve lived in Frenchtown your entire life or are a new resident, you’ll want to make time to attend a few of these events.

April 24th and 25th

New Jersey Kennel Club Spring Dog Show

Dogs of all ages will compete for top honors in the New Jersey Kennel Club Spring Dog Show held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 24th and 25th in Horseshoe Bend Park. The Kennel Club will award prizes in several categories, including best novice puppy, fun puppy match, best in show, best adult, best altered dog, juniors’ competition and veteran’s competition. Food and merchandise vendors will also be present.

May 1st and 2nd

Spring Arts and Craft Show

The Spring Arts and Craft Show features offerings from artists and artisans who live along the Delaware River or in other locations throughout New Jersey. If you’ve been looking for a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry or a handmade item to add a little color to your living room, the arts and craft show is the place to be. The show will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days and will include daily wine and cheese receptions. Your $5 admission donation will help support the Delaware River Mill Society and maintain the Prallsville Mill Complex.

May 8th

Branchburg Food Truck and Music Festival 

White Oak Park

The Branchburg Food Truck and Music Festival is the perfect place to relax and enjoy tasty food truck cuisine after a busy week. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and continues until 7 p.m. at White Oak Park. In addition to 20 food trucks offering gourmet food, the event will also feature live music, a 50/50 raffle, a Mother’s Day plant sale and a beer garden. Activities for the kids include airbrush and glitter tattoos, pony rides, a petting zoo, games, inflatables, spin art and sand art. 

Do you hate to leave your dog behind while you have fun on the weekend? That won’t be a problem on May 8th, as dogs are welcome to attend the festival. The Rotary Club of Branchburg, the sponsor of the festival, asks that all attendees bring a non-perishable boxed or canned item to support the food pantry. Admission is $5 and kids under 10 are free.

May 22nd

Run the Vineyards

Federal Twist Vineyards

If you prefer running events that offer scenic backdrops, you’ll want to add Run the Vineyards to your spring calendar. The 5K and 10K races start at Federal Twist Vineyards and meander through the vineyard, local roads and part of the Delaware and Raritan Canal Trail. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine at the end of the race as you listen to live music and enjoy a snack from the food truck. The cost is $44 for the 5K and $50 for the 10K. (Fees increase after May 21st.) Your entry fee includes a gender-specific tech shirt and custom wine glass.

 

June 13th and 14th

Modern Fossils at the Frenchtown Art Tour

Every piece of Modern Fossils’ unique artwork incorporates objects the artists found while cleaning local waterways. The plaster castings are inspired by storm drain covers in local river towns and contain manmade residue and natural materials discovered during river cleanups. Through their artwork, the artists explore the importance of protecting our waterways and keeping them clean. The show is free and will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
