3 Hospitality Tips for Entertaining Guests in your Easton Home

One of the great pleasures of moving into a new home is being able to invite family and friends over to enjoy it. Let’s be honest, it’s kind of fun to show off your new digs to people you enjoy being around!

Of course, once you’ve done the tour of the new place, it’s important to make your guests feel comfortable and at home. Here are a few hospitality tips for entertaining guests in your Easton home.

Don’t just eat with your guests—prepare a meal with them!

Are you proud of your new kitchen? Don’t just show it to friends, use it with them. One fun way to do that is to have a “make your own personal pizza” night. Some stores have ready-to-use pizza dough. Let everyone roll out their own crust and spread on the tomato paste and sauce and then have all kinds of toppings available (pepperoni, olives, green pepper, sausuage, anchovies, mushrooms, different shredded cheeses, etc.).

People congregate in the kitchen anyway, so letting people prepare their own pizza is a natural. Even “disasters” are fun. There’s something very satisfying about eating a meal you helped to prepare. And having something to do with your hands puts people at ease when there’s a lull in the conversation.

Host a Murder Mystery Party.

Help your guests get in touch with their inner sleuth by hosting a dinner and murder mystery. Amazon.com has a wide selection of murder mystery games, including Murder Mystery Party - Pasta, Passion and Pistols. In this “dinner party in a box” the body of Pepi Roni has been discovered, and guests (up to eight at a time) must solve the murder before the killer strikes again.

Game night isn’t just for kids!

Mysteries aren’t the only game in town.  Your guests may enjoy a an intriguing game of wits such as Balderdash, in which players make up phony answers about people, words, movies, history, and more and then read the made up answers along with the correct answer trying to convince others to vote for their answer. Or perhaps try a game of Dixit, which uses a deck of cards illustrated with dreamlike images. Players select cards that match a title suggested by the "storyteller", and attempt to guess which card the "storyteller" selected. Maybe you want to play cards, or other board games. Or perhaps you want to shoot a little pool. Once of the advantages of a place like Country Classics Legacy at Morgan Hill is its beautiful 4,000 sq. ft. Clubhouse (shown here) that features a Fitness Center, Game Room, Craft Room, and pool table. If your guests are coming in the summer months, they can enjoy the outdoor heated pool.

Naturally, one of the keys to being a great host or hostess is having the right place to have people join you. If you’re looking for a great 46+ adult community that offers lots of amenities, no maintenance, and plenty of things to do with friends and family, you’ll want to check out the opportunities at Country Classics Legacy at Morgan Hill!
