Moving into a new apartment can seem like a daunting task if you're not sure how to go about it. Luckily, we have some great ideas around packing, moving, and unpacking.

1. Hire professionals to pack your belongings.

Moving isn't easy. There's a reason there are packing and moving companies!

In general, we always recommend hiring a packing and moving company to aid you in your move. Professionals know how to pack your belongings safely, how to organize your boxes in a methodical manner to make unpacking seamless, and how to transport your packed goods safely.

If you are looking for Moving Companies in the Bridgewater area, check out this list.

If you are planning on packing and moving yourself, here is a helpful list of pro tips!

2. Label your boxes by room.

Whether you or professional packers are moving your belongings, make sure each and every box is labeled. Not only does this keep the packing process organized, but it will also make unpacking and moving into your new luxury apartment much easier!

For example, when packing dishes in your kitchen, label the box: KITCHEN - DISHES. This way, you can keep other kitchen items (such as pots and pans) separate but still organized as well.

3. Keep any important personal paperwork with you.

For paperwork like your marriage license, your car title, your tax documents, and anything else of that nature, we highly recommend you pack this separately. Keep a box of important documents with you.

This ensures that, not only will this paperwork be safely tucked away from any others involved in your moving process, but you will also have access to it if at any point during the move, should you need it! For example, if your documents are tucked away in storage for a week while you are preparing to move, you won't be able to access them if anything unexpected comes up.

4. Keep a few days of clothes & toiletries with you.

Moving has so many moving pieces to it. This makes it harder to plan perfectly. In these instances, we always recommend planning for 2-3 days of clothes and toiletries to keep with you during the moving process.

Having an overnight bag will make starting the next day that much easier. Instead of immediately needing to unpack, you will have a change of clothes any personal items you may need to get going. This bag will also help should your moving truck not arrive on time!

5. Pace yourself.

This is a tip for both packing up and unpacking: pace yourself! Remember the old adage, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Packing up your current rental property and unpacking into a new luxury apartment at Fairway 28 doesn't have to happen in 24 hours! It isn't a race. Having enough clothes for a couple of days set aside, as mentioned in Tip #4, will make taking your time even easier.

Remember that it is easier to unpack a few boxes or rooms at a time rather than unpacking everything as quickly as possible. When you unpack at a slower pace, it is a much more intentional process. Having a method to your unpacking will make the actual set up and design if you are planning on changing it up a bit!

Using these 5 tips, you'll become a pro at moving into new apartments! You could even create an Instagram account to document your progress or take photos of your progress and post them on social media. I'm sure your friends and family will appreciate the advice and tips. That aside, we wish you all luck with your next move!
