Is your Central New Jersey apartment due for a makeover? Taking your home from bland to beautiful can be as simple as adding a few pops of bold color. When you incorporate Very Peri, Pantone’s color of the year for 2022, in your decorating scheme, your home will look and feel fresh, warm, and inviting.

5 Ways You Can Upgrade Your Space with Very Peri

Very Peri “displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expressions,” according to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Whether you’ve been looking for a color with a sprightly attitude or just find Very Peri’s blue/violet hue visually appealing, you’re bound to find plenty of ways to use the color in your apartment. Here are a few of our favorite ways to embrace the new color trend:

Upgrade Your Rugs and Curtains

Your floors may be carpeted, but there’s no reason you can’t add an area rug for a splash of color. A solid periwinkle rug or one that features touches of Very Peri will help tie your room together, particularly if you pair the rug with curtains in periwinkle or a complementary color. Since you can take both area rugs and curtains with you when you move, you’ll be able to enjoy your purchases for years to come.

Spring for Some New Bed Linens

Do you toss and turn at night and wake up feeling more tired than when you went to bed? Adding Veri Peri to your bedroom just may help you get a better night’s sleep. In a Travelodge Survey, people who had blue bedrooms reported sleeping significantly longer than survey participants who chose other colors for their rooms.

In addition to selecting an area rug or curtains in periwinkle, why not update your sheets, comforter, or bedspread with the color too? A nightstand or dresser in the colorful shade adds instant drama to your bedroom. If you can’t find furniture in Very Peri, you can always break out your paintbrush and makeover an existing piece.

Make Your Bathroom Pop with Periwinkle

Not sure if Veri Peri is the color for you? Your bathroom is the perfect place to experiment with the color. Hang a periwinkle shower curtain or swap out your current bathmat, soap dispenser, towels, or toothbrush holder for Very Peri versions.

Add Periwinkle Touches to Your Kitchen

Decorative bowls, mugs, utensils, and dish towels add pops of periwinkle to your kitchen. Kitchen appliances offer another way to incorporate the blue/violet hue. Toasters, stand mixers, electric can openers, blenders, and other small appliances are available in multiple shades of blue. (You may not find colorful appliances in local stores, but they’re readily available online.) Add one or two touches of periwinkle or make Very Peri the signature color for your kitchen.

Accessorize with Very Peri

If you’re not ready to commit to a complete Very Peri overhaul of your apartment, start small by adding one or two periwinkle accessories. If you don’t like the color, it will be easy to change your color scheme by replacing the items. Look for accessories and furnishings that feature periwinkle, including:

• Throw pillows
• Flowers
• Wall hangings
• Picture or mirror frames
• Tablecloths
• Tissue holders
• Slipcovers
• Centerpieces
• Clocks
• Coffee table books
• Candles
• Lamps
• Vases
• Throws
• Plant pots
• Bistro set for your balcony

You’ll find plenty of artwork that includes the color of the year, from paintings of flowers to bustling cityscapes. If you don’t want to buy a piece of new art, make your own. Cover a blank canvas with Very Peri or create an intricate design with the paint.
