The People Behind Country Classics: Meet Peter Alvarez

Our business is building new homes in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. And while it’s a business, it’s still a very personal undertaking. Sure, we deal with property and building materials, and plans, and finances—but ultimately, it’s a business about people

That’s why we like to give prospective homeowners at least a small glimpse of the people behind our side of the business—people like Peter Alvarez who works in finance for both our New Jersey and Pennsylvania projects.

Peter has been part of the Country Classics team since February of 2010 and brings more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and financial modeling to the job.

Before joining us at Country Classics, Peter worked at the commercial real estate firm of Madison Marquette and at Ernst & Young. His extensive real estate experience includes a real estate license from the state of New Jersey. During his 20-year real estate career, Peter has worked with foreclosures, pre-foreclosures, creative real estate transactions and short sales.

Of course, all work and no play would make Peter a dull boy. When he’s not working on projects for Country Classics, Peter enjoys watching and playing basketball and baseball (He’s an avid Yankees fan) and spending time with his kids. His favorite movie is It’s a Wonderful Life (“The movie is a classic!”). If he could go anywhere in the world it would probably be Fiji—but he thinks traveling to the moon would be interesting, too. The smell of a ripe mango reminds him of his childhood—sitting under a mango tree at his uncle’s farm eating mangoes until he got sick (and then eating some more)!

When asked about the best thing anyone ever said to him, Peter replied, “It’s not about us it’s about them; it’s not about you it’s about Him!” –something he heard in 2005 while volunteering for the Red Cross during Hurricane Wilma in Florida—an event he says changed his life.

That’s a quick glimpse into the life of one of the people behind the scenes at Country Classics. We hope you get a chance to meet Peter in person before too long!
